The iDiscountBooks.com was created totally in-house by the development staff of CRT Systems, Inc.
The Book Rack of Rock Hill, SC "The Best Little Book Store in Dixie" opened for business in November 2001 as new and used "brick and mortar" book store., We opened with about 25,000 books in the store. As our business grew, so did our inventory. We had to find other ways to keep our stock rotated so that we could continue to accept the large volume of trade-ins that we were receiving. We began listing our books for sale on Half.com as the seller parrish2. Within the year we found that the majority of our sales we happening on the Internet, so we began seeking other Internet option for our sales.. We added another seller account with Half.com, parrish-newbooks to sell our new books. Around the same time we began selling on Amazon.com as well as BookRackRH as our seller account. Across the board we have maintained one of the highest seller ratings on each of the sites on which we sell. To date, we have sold about 400,000 books on the Internet, with an annual sales of over $4,000,000.00.

The problem with selling books on these sites is that much of the gross revenue is returned to the listing businesses as commissions. These commissions equal 15% of the sales price, and almost 1/3 of the shipping charges. The way that these shipping charges are calculated are often unfair to you. We feel it would be better to pass these costs savings to you with additional discounts and shipping options. Additionally all of the operational control is given up. There are many listing mistakes on these sites, and we are constantly experiencing major interruptions and software problems.
